My creativity isn't limited to art and design. I love making things with my hands, too.
Currently a major work in progress, the ColorCube was a Christmas gift that I've turned into a much larger project. It is an interactive photocube, illuminated from the inside. It can either randomly shift color on each of the four faces, or the color each face can be manually set.

Based upon Alex Weber's 64Pixels, I created my own version using a different LED matrix. It is built to sit on the strap of my satchel and display messages when the bag is worn.

For the better part of 2010, I worked on HeatSync Labs' nearspace project, and together we managed to send a small payload of several cameras to an altitude of about 75,000 feet.
Read more about it on HeatSync's blog, or view more pictures on Flickr.

In my day-to-day life, I needed a small bag to carry around the "simple necessities." I couldn't find a bag that was the right size and the right price. When my office was throwing out a pile of tote bags, I knew what to do. Except for the zippers, the bag is made entirely of reclaimed materials. It is also an original design that I put together.

Recognizable as the iconic military cap worn by Imperial Officers in the Star Wars franchise, I consider this cap a successful failure. It's a success because I learned a lot about sewing when I made it, and that it came out nearly perfect in the second attempt. It's a failure because I don't think I look as good in it as I had hoped.

I'm learning to knit. I'm really not that good a it, but this quirky old book is helping a lot.
